The Bristol Bird Club will conduct their monthly walk at Steele Creek Park on Thursday, October 8th at 8:30 am. We’ll start at the Mill Creek Trailhead on Broad Street. The walk should last about 2 hours. New birders always welcome!

Be sure to join us for Wildlife Weekend 2026 Friday and Saturday, Ocotber 9/10 This year’s Wildlife Weekend promises to be one of the biggest and best we’ve ever had, starting with the world premier of “Ghosts in the Forest”, a documentary on paleontology in the southern Appalachians, written and directed by our own Jeremy Stout. The film will be shown Friday evening, without charge, at the Legacy Theater in Bristol VA. Saturday will be filled with a wide variety of activities for naturalists of all ages. A schedule of all of the activities can be found here on the Bristol TN Parks and Recreation website. You don’t want to miss out on any of the fun, so mark your calendars now and plan to join us for Wildlife Weekend 2026

Reminder: Tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 10th), the Bristol Bird Club will resume their monthly walks in Steele Creek Park. Meet at the Mill Creek Trailhead on Broad Street at 8:30 am. Temperatures should be in the 68-78 degree range. The walk should last about 2 hours. All levels of birders welcome.

REMINDER: Come “Hike with Commander” tomorrow, Wednesday, September 9th. Meet at the Mill Creek parking lot at 2:00pm for a 2.5 mile hike thru the eastern portion of the park. Weather is forecast to be very hot and humid and with the 800 foot elevation gain, results in a moderately difficult rating for this hike. Total time should be 1.5 – 2.0 hours. Hope to see you there.
