Herbarium Project at Steele Creek Park – Volunteers Needed!
Posted on May 24th, 2010 by Steele Creek Fan
The Nature Center, in conjunction with Friends of Steele Creek, has begun the development of a park herbarium. Plants within the park will be gathered, identified and preserved and will be used for scientific, educational, and resource management purposes. Volunteers are needed for all aspects of this exciting project.
Our next activity is scheduled for Saturday, May 29th at 10 am. We will meet at the Nature Center. If you, or your organization, including high school or college groups, would be interested in helping with this project, contact Larry McDaniel at the Nature Center, (423) 989-5616.
